Human study discussedA 46-week phase II trial in adults with overweight or obesity without diabetes found mean weight reduction of 14.9% in the highest planned-treatment group, versus 2.8% with placebo. Gastrointestinal events were the most frequent adverse effects. This was a dose-finding trial of combined glucagon and GLP-1 receptor activity; its results cannot establish superiority over medicines tested in different populations or trials.
